I just bought my very first custom made corset from Gallery Serpentine. It's beautiful, fits like a dream, gives me a wonderful shape, is sturdy, and was very reasonably priced. Where does everybody here prefer for corsetry? Anybody you would recommend for my next one?

Re: Where do you get your corsets?
Mon, July 9, 2007 - 11:05 AMDark Garden, but not just because it's halfway between where I work and where I live, or that I know some of the girls who work there, or because they always flatter me. My girlfriend thinks my corset makes me look "yummy", and I know a compliment when I hear one. -

Tue, July 10, 2007 - 1:24 AMI have to hit Thrift stores. Can't afford to have a custom fit yet. Hoping to hit the lottery soon. Perhaps then I can afford it.

Re: Where do you get your corsets?
Tue, July 10, 2007 - 2:15 AMI can't vouch for US makers, but I'm having Cathrine Harman ( www.harmanhay.co.uk/ ) make me a custom corset and she is very detail oriented so I'm sure it's going to come out very well. Have a look at her period reproduction work - it's very stunning.
I've heard good things about Dark Garden, Azrael's Accomplice, Corinthia's and Versatile Fashions in North America, as well.
I also have a second-hand corset from Meschantes which is lovely and well-made, but I've heard a few complaints about custom orders not fitting properly or just plain never arriving. -

Re: Where do you get your corsets?
Wed, July 25, 2007 - 1:59 AMFor my wedding, I'm going to Dark Garden in SF for my first custom corset. Before now, I was not willing to get a custom one. My rationale was that I got bored with my clothing too quickly, so I should just get bodices, which are cheaper. They usually fit me pretty well. As I get older, however, I see the rationale behind getting something that is well made and fits really well to hide those curves that come with age.

Re: Where do you get your corsets?
Tue, July 31, 2007 - 11:19 AMI get my corsets (among other things) out my very own handy dandy shop. If dear readers have not already settled on one of the other fine makers suggested, take a look here: www.vixenleather.com The site is a bit under construction (the boss took a vacation half way through an update) but I'm still here and working, so drop a line if you like =) I've just added lining in whatever fabric suits your fancy to the list of things Vixen can handle (hurrah new machines!) We're as custom as you like, or there's the usual stock.
If you're bent on cloth, I strongly recommend Mayfaire Moon ( www.mayfairemoon.com ). Nikki's stuff is quite literally breathtaking. I adore mine and she's superb with customer service, in my experience.
Enjoy!
