  I think it is funny when people try to say that goth originated in the 1970's... There have always been goths! They may not have called themselves that particular term, but honestly... There will always be those who are eccentric, and morbid, and fascinated by the darker side of things. It's much more than a fad.

    I agree the goth has always been around. As I look back I have been goth since the late 60's, but I don't remember the word goth used to describe us before 1982. Although - my memory may be slipping........seems so long ago, in a small town so far away.
