Ladies, thank you soooo much for all of your help with my wedding questions. My groom really wants some help with outfits, so I thought I'd start a separate thread. Any links/suggestions are much appreciated. I love this tribe!

Re: Gothic grooms
Thu, May 3, 2007 - 3:00 AMkambriel has a nice 'formal' men's line. I've always thought anything from the line would be nice wedding attire for a groom.

Thu, May 3, 2007 - 9:00 AMFind a book on fashion history and have him look at what cuts he likes. Something might jump out at him. There is a huge variety of things men can wear.
There is a look called "tuxedo goth" that is a very stylized way to wear a tux. I am trying to find a photo.
What does he invision himself wearing?

Sat, May 5, 2007 - 4:28 AMI like the "Elegant Gothic Aristocrat" look from Japan. A couple of good links for that are:
www.fanplusfriend.com/servlet/StoreFront
www.boz.ne.jp/ (Click on the word Boz below the logo and look in the men's section - sorry it's in Japanese!)
And I'll second the recommendations for Drac-in-a-Box and Kambriel, because both have great men's selections and are lovely to order from. -

Re: Gothic grooms
Sat, May 5, 2007 - 4:44 AMElegant gothic aristocrat is not a "look" but a fashion genre/collection created by the ingenious Mana, who also created elegant gothic lolita. Basically taking the lolita subculture and taking it many steps further.

Ahh, Mana, how I worship thee. -

Re: Gothic grooms
Sat, May 5, 2007 - 8:09 AMIt's true, but many other designers have assimilated aspects of it as well. I didn't mean to downplay Mana's achievements as a designer, merely to express how many directions it has gone since then. :) -

Re: Gothic grooms
Sat, May 5, 2007 - 1:24 PMDidn't think you were downplaying, and it has indeed expanded. But I can't help express worship whenever I can. I don't know anything about trademark issues with it, but it's always good to go to the original source. -

Re: Gothic grooms
Sat, May 5, 2007 - 2:08 PMNo problem! I absolutely understand. Mana is a very amazing person! As far as trademark, I'm almost certain there isn't one on the term 'Elegant Gothic Aristocrat', otherwise Mana will be spending the next several lifetimes chasing down infringements, as I see it everywhere online, even other clothing stores/designers. -

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 9:00 AMFor my wedding, I had my coat and vest custom made.
There are a few photos in my profile, feel free to take a look.
Maybe Custom made is the way to go?
