makes it almost impossible to anything with it. So I decided to try hair falls, and I don't have the usual trouble attaching them. Oh no, I have it worse - when they things are attached, you can see my bleedin' hair beneath. I've tried two buns, one partial bun, pony tails, plaits, loose hair, head bands, clips and nooothing seems to work.
Any tips (aside from shaving it all off) to cover my hair?
Thanks ^_^

Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 12:38 PMI'm confused (a not unusual state of affairs...), are you asking for tips to attach falls or for alternate ideas to cover your own hair? If it's the first question, I'm no help. But if it's the second, what are you trying to achieve and how long IS your actual hair? And I have to disagree that really long hair is impossible to do anything with. Indeed, you have many more options. My hair has been hip length and chin length and by far I have more options with the long hair. It's currently layered and the longest point is at the small of my back. I wear it down, I wear it up, I curl it or throw it in a clip or ponytail and use a variety of different sized clips to achieve different effects. So seriously thnk about growing yours out. Long hair isn't easy to deal with but if it's options you want, it's, in my not so humble opinion, the best way to go! :)

Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 2:09 PMAh, I see why you're confused - I wasn't very clear.
I have looooong hair - it's about... maybe just above the hip? I find it really difficult getting it into buns etc for attaching hair falls because they end up HUGE and it looks a little silly, and when I attach the falls, and put them over the bun or whatever, because my hair is so "big" the strands of the hair falls "part" over the bun (or whatever -_- ).
I love having long hair, and I don't want to cut it just so I can wear falls, so I appreciate your help =)
I'll try and get a picture to show you, cos I'm rubbish at describing stuff, ^_^; -

Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 3:56 PMTry making a mohawk of buns all the way down.. with the last one ending at your occipital bone (the bump at the back of your head).. Then break your falls into smaller pieces and attach (this will lighten the load on each bun too).
Onces your falls are in, get a couple cool look scarves or long pieces of lace to wrap an open turban or head band around your exposed hair.
Another option is to make one sizeable bun with the upper half of your hair, braid the remaining and then wrap that around your bun. and again with a scarf, lace...etc.. to cover your exposed locks

Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 4:29 PMAh now I get it! It's still a tough problem though because of course you don't want to cut your fabulous long hair just to wear falls and it can be hard to get it "small" enough when you put it up. You're "adding hair" and so that's just gonna make your big hair bigger! LOL If you're determined to wear them AND have long hair maybe you could get you hair layered or thinned out? My hair is so baby fine that I layer it just to get some illusion of volume but for you the technique might work to make your buns smaller. Oh lordy that sounded like a bad excersize commercial! Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Sun, January 20, 2008 - 11:00 AMThanks for all your advice!
I think I'm going to try and make 2 high ponytails and plait them tightly, so that way I can pin a few strands of the falls onto them, then cover what's showing will a really nice scarf I saw the other day. I'll let you know if it works!
Thanks once again :)

Re: Ridiculously long hair...
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 11:46 PMNow I really know why many women put their hair up in a pony tail. I thought it was just a particular fashion statement. (LOL) I have pretty long hair right now, but plan to chop it off this spring for cancer patients.
