I've been looking all over the web for sites featuring wilder / edgier haircuts. Anyone have any good sites to recommend?
I have an appointment with a new stylist and wanted to get some new ideas.
I'm also thinking it's time to highlight with a second color, so am thinking of a turquoise blue (special effect fishbowl) or deep pink (special effects virgin rose) to compliment the purple passion and do it as a gradual fade from one color to the other. I just don't want to look line one of the indie rock kids will a wacked splotch of blonde on my head, lol.

Wed, April 5, 2006 - 10:37 AMNot much help, but: The last time I went to my hairstylists, she had all of these awesome haircut mags from the UK (all UK mags are better than US ones, IMHO). A lot of them had great punky/wild looks, and of course the mags were like 3 years old and still more forward thinking than most of the hairstyles I see in the US today. Of course I failed to ask her where she got them...maybe you could find an international magazine stand..
Yeah I'd love to do some of the crazy highlight looks I've seen (uh, the ones that look good are few and far between) but I'm afraid of fucking up my healthy hair and also my hair seriously grows almost 3/4" a month, so I'm dying it all the time anyway.

Sun, April 9, 2006 - 1:30 PMyour idea actually inspired me to look more at european websites - which was a lot of fun. i do agree that a lot of the crazy highlights don't come out looking good, but i was more thinking on sections rather than just streaks.

i ended up with a pretty cute haircut yesterday. the back is short enough to spike and then it slopes down to below my chin in the front. it's pretty fun. so the current color idea is to keep the front purple and the short back part will be turquiose.

Fri, April 7, 2006 - 8:00 AMI enjoyed haircrazy. I love the random color look much better than the even striped look that has been popular for over ten years. I know that a lot of the colorist are doing random color blocking where it looks like part of your hair is in a spotlight, which I had done and it turned out rather well.

Sat, April 8, 2006 - 7:10 AMI recently cut my wifes hair intto an asemetric bob with a sever graduation (grade 2 shaved at the back to 12 inches at the front this can the be textured to break up the sever line if you wish. the end result fantastic she said it was her first proper hair style. I think it would be amazing with your colour ideas. -

We have a huge gallery which should give you some ides on colours and styles :)
Theres also a large section on how to keep and prolong hair colours etc (mainly veggie dyes such as Manic Panic and Special Effects)
