Bringing the goth aesthetic to the office...

I recently graduated from the University and got a 'real' job. The kind that takes place in the office, and mostly entails sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.

I already miss school, where I never felt at all estranged when I dressed how I wanted, and I felt comfortable expressing myself, and treating the classroom as a runway.

In the office the dress code is 'business casual,' but I am trying to find ways to bring the goth aesthetic into my work wardrobe, without over doing it. I try to accessorize, but a lot of my jewelry seems too over the top. I even have to tuck my septum ring up into my nose while I'm working and it feels like I'm hiding the real me for this job.

Any suggestions on how I can incorporate my goth goodies into my every day work wardrobe so that I don't feel like I'm losing myself? All suggestions welcome!

Rite of Lilith by Joshua J. Seraphim {Frater Annuit Coeptis} copyright © A.D. 1999 All rights reserved.

The Rite of Lilith given here is the public version, the full length version used by Initiates of the O.A.I. is available in Lilith Monographs Vol I: Immaculata

Confessionis, Lamentations, and the Rite of Lilith are included in the Apocrypha of Lilith.

Erotic cults such as the Vāma-Kālī sect of Tantra, the Carpocratians, Black Madonna, Catholic cults devoted to the Magdalene and Virgin, worshippers of Lilith uncover the most carnal dimensions of ritualized sex. Mankind condemns Lilith by trying to define Her. She is damned and worshipped in print and song. The Legend of Lilith evolves from diverse religious and cultural memes. We first encounter the Lilith mythos in the Alphabet of Ben Sira, the Zohar, and in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Lilith is a primal effigy in ancient religion, and experiences evolutions from archaic goddess to colourless ghost and desert terror.

In the philosophy of the Hebrew Qabalah, Lilith corresponds to the daemon of Malchut in the Qlifot {the World of Shells, or husks). Pertaining to Qabalah every world is a husk of the world above and below. The Qlifot are shells of the dead worlds, and by conquering the fear of the Mystery of Death, the Initiate attains to the Vision of the Wrathful Maiden. Lilith is the arcane archetype of sexual dominance and the fear of Death, the archetypal primacy of Lilith annihilates litanies of inhibitions in the human psyche. Etymological origins of Lilith independent of Jehovian-Semitic templates point to the Sumero-Babylonian Lilû, which translates to ‘a demon equivalent to a male vampire.’ Derived from Sumerian, Lila refers to ‘wind,’ or ‘storm.’ Opting for an Akkadian translation, I suggest Lalu, also Lulu as ‘lecherous,’ and ‘wandering.’

From the Akkadian Lilitû and her Sumero-Babylonian compliments, Ardat-Lili, Idlu-Lili, and Lamaştû, derives the Semitic LYLYT {Lilith}. The Lilitû primarily feasted upon women and children, referred to by the terrified inhabitants of Ur and Babylon as night-ghosts that roamed the deserts away from populace. Pictographs from 800 B.C. to 500 B.C. Babylonia depict “Lilith” in the company of snakes and other abominable animals, keeping with themes of her malevolence in Babylonian pottery, Persian and Jewish amulets and in the Qumran scrolls. The night-ghosts here evolved into the Jehovian mythopoeia seeping into the Christian paradigms of diabolatry. Isaiah 34; xiv in the Vulgate refers to “he-goats,” “hairy monsters,” again carried over from Judaic paradigm. The Vulgate reads; “Et occurrent daemonia onocentauris, et pilosus clamabit alter ad alterum; ibi cubauit lamia, et inuenit sibi requiem.” Isaiah 34; xiv-xv refers to Lilith as the ‘Screech Owl.’ The Serpent in the form of Lilith initiated Mankind, the true Beast with seduction and dark eroticism by providing the forbidden fruit of death to Eve, her female concubine. In her secret initiations with Eve, appearing to Her as a Serpent, Lilith took up the cloak of the primal seductress. Through Eve, Lilith taught Mankind forbidden paths of the Black and Red Serpent ~ of Lust and Love.

The Rite of Lilith is a Tantric and magical ceremony of Chthonic working, as the true archetype of Lilith is sex and death. Lilith is embodied by metaphysical and mystical origins of diverse ancient cultures. Adored and feared by mortals as the Sumerian Lilitu {also the Hand of Inanna}, Babylonian Lamashtû {Daughter of Anu}, Akkadian Ardat-lili, the Hellenistic Hecate, or the Hindu Kali, it is black Lilith whom enshrouds over our eyes the Veil of Death. She is the personification of the Scarlet Woman. Those who transcend psychosexual modes of deviance, and overcome religious memes will breed new paradigms, and a new race, a new psychology, a new code of genetics completely unknown to contemporary Man. Her womb produces only those whose veins retain Her Imperial blood…and hidden words. Man trembles at the thought of the Scarlet Woman as sexual rival. A true initiated Brother sees the Scarlet Woman with Heaven’s eye of blood.

Lilith, in all her mythic emulations, and cultural prototypes, is not here to ‘prune’ the sexual mania of Man. She is here to harvest it! In the seeds of sperm and ovum, the psychosexual and cultural lineage of Lilith retains Imperial Blood. The curse of Ophelia will be known to all Mankind. The Rite of Lilith presents to the reader a device to prospect unexplored, uncharted psychological and religious memes of the Goddess dominant. Lilith’s Rite is a chthonic reenactment of Sumerian and Akkadian mythos, designed to embed in the psyche memes equal to patrilineal religious pantheons, with the sacred feminine as Initiator and Fiat of Mankind’s “salvation.”

The Apocryphal Gospel of Phillip states, “If anyone becomes a child of the Bridal Chamber, he will receive the light. If anyone does not receive it while he is in these places, he will not be able to receive it in the other place. He who will receive the light cannot be seen, nor can he be held. And none can torment him while he dwells in the world. And furthermore, when he goes out of the world, already he has received the truth in images. The word has become the æon, for the æon has become for him the fullness. It is thus; it is revealed only to him. It is not hidden in the darkness and the night, but it is hidden in a perfect day and a holy light.”

{Gospel of Phillip 127}. The psychosexual prototypes and cultural memes of Lilith represent the Chapel Perilous {of the Grail Legend}, the darkness of the womb from whence Man physically and metaphysically emerges. Lilith is the “perfect day and holy light” hidden within the Nightside of Eden, the “darkness and the night” of the bridal chamber. To enter the holy bridal chamber, one must first pass through the nightside brothels of Lilith and Her kin.

Lilith’s Rite functions as an ingress of psychosexual archetypes imbued within Mankind’s consciousness and genetics since the dawn of religion. Religion is latent within the human genetic code. As the initiate progresses through the monologues of the Rite of Lilith, interpolation of archetypes of Lilith emulated throughout the history of ancient cultures {such as Sumerian, Babylonian, and Mesopotamian} occurs within the initiate’s consciousness. The ritualist primes the psyche for an atavistic resurgence of psychosexual prototypes. In essence the Rite of Lilith functions as an atavistic indwelling of Lilith. Equally, the lunar archetype worshipped by the ancients is a gnosis explored by initiating into the dreaming nightside of Lilith/Lilitu. The Rite represents the embrace of instinct, uniting will with causal affect.

The ritualist seeks Lilith through the wilderness and desert isolation, in the caves of primeval darkness and the burial tombs of those dead but dreaming, her forbidden fruits and hidden words are invoked into the ritual garden. The Elder Gods which have traversed the earth since time immemorial, even heed the wisdom of Lilith, for She retains the unbroken darkness of the Abyss and therein its secrets and infinite possibilities. Her reputation has taken on the epitome of the “dark side” of the sacred feminine. The usual precedent when a new religion supplants pagan animism or polytheism, is to invert the previous religion’s deities into antinomian “demons” as that side of their psyche becomes obscured.

While Lilitu has its etymological origins in ancient languages of the Arab world, the name Laylá comes from the word layl meaning “night.” Recall that Lilitu is associated with a night-ghost who roamed desolate places such as the desert. Night represents the Unmanifest. In the Arabian deserts, the night is a reality without boundaries: forms are dissolved, no sand dunes or camels or anything else visible, all is formless, nothing but darkness. This is direct symbolism of the unmanifested aspect of the Divine Nature, God as Unmanifest. Blackness absorbs all light, thus Lilith represents the unmanifest nature of reality, the unmanifest psyche hidden in the blackest depths of Man’s mind.

There are echoes that bear throughout the World’s shadows tales of times remote; tales, who carry the remnants of books long turned to dust, tales, which whisper cryptically of Eve and the Serpent. There are, born in each generation, Men and Women whom awake to memories and ordained knowledge told to them in nightmares. The echoes of Lilith’s hidden words and Her tales are gathered once more before the eyes of lost souls who speak the language of insanity and carnal Lust. Lost ‘mid Truth and Lie, there is a Secret that has no telling: we foreswear all oaths all sacraments to other Gods and Goddesses in Lilith’s name. Her Path is written in blood, blood fresh fallen from her womb, fallen to the opened hearts of mad crones and wrathful maidens, abused women, and downtrodden Brothers of the Holy Grail and the Red Serpent who look beyond both themselves and the Stars in heaven. With Lilith, that which is seen is not that which should be sought.

Required:

Black robe (Cloak or garment)
22 Black candles (symbolic of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot)
Wand
Chalice
Red wine
Athame or instrument to draw blood
Musk, Sulphur, Storax & or Abramelin incense
Abramelin Oil

*other devices to exalt the Spirit and stimulate the workings of the rite are left to the creative ecstasy and Will of the Magician*

I Time

Lilith’s Rite must only be performed on the eve’ of the New Moon, or on Samhain {Halloween} night. Never at any other time. The Rite lasts three full days and nights.

II Preliminaries

Purification and consecration: Fast sunrise to sunset seven days and nights prior to Rite. Abstain from any and all sexual activity one full lunar cycle {about 29-30 days} prior to Rite, this is of the utmost importance to the Rite. Keep silent and do not speak one full day and night prior to Rite. Bath ritually at sunset and fast completely one full day prior to Rite.

III Formulate the Cross:

Touch the brow and vibrate ardat lili

Touch the breast and vibrate îdlu-lili
ki-sikil-li-la-ke

Trace the Hebrew name of Lilith

Face the direction of Luna
With the wand trace the Hebrew letters of Her name:

לילית

Vibrate lilit malkah ha' shadim

Recite:
Confessionis ex Lilitu

IV Canticle of Lilith

Face the direction of Luna.

Recite the Canticle of Lilith in benediction and exaltation:

Genuflect towards direction of Luna. Touch in succession, reciting loudly:

Genitals ~ Ayin Nun Her Water of Tears, for the tears are the separation from the Light after the Fall.

heart ~ Ayin Layl Her Waters of Creation the Firmament away from the Light the creation of the Shells of the Qlippoth.

left eye ~ Ayin Sof Nun Her Waters of the Ocean from this the Serpent issues forth.

Circumambulate once against direction of Kronos {counterclockwise} and give Sign of Silence upon returning full circle to West quarter. Place palms upon chest, close eyes, recite loudly:

veharetz hayta tohu vavohu vekhoshekh al-pnei tehom veruach elohim merakhefet al-pnei hamayyim

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of the Hosts moved upon the face of the waters.

Malchut Her False Sea the husks of Light reflecting the Four Great Rivers of Nod, the seven Infernal Habitations, the seven fallen earths.

illah’Lil-Uti
In the Void I wandered, fallen.
I, LYLYT, strayed into the shells, into Malchut, in the Valley of Gêhinnôm before the Garden of Nod.
Exiled from the gardens of Yahweh, banished unto the shells of the dead Worlds.
The nectar of blood hung sweet upon my lips in the æons before the Garden of She'ol.
So abysmal, barren, and deserted were these gardens that the sun, stars, and moon did not lend to me their luster. Beasts Owl, Cat, Snake hid away.
My Voice strayed into Man's First Memory, my Voice strayed into Man's First Night, my Voice strayed into the living Abyss.
I, LYLYT, clutched a barren womb, yet a garden birthed within me, growing but rotted.
The first Garden of Hope raised within my Womb, ripe with seeds of rotted fruit from the Tree of Life and their lingering burn.
My birth pains made the breech of the Abyss, my blood made the shores of the Endless Sea.
It burned me into ashes. And from ashes came rebirth.
Unto the shores of the Endless Sea I strayed, I crossed into the howling depths and I sank forever.
I, LYLYT, vomited the Brood of Jehovah into She’ol, and burned the husks of his shaped
worlds.
My tortured cries became the howls of the crashing seas and the silence of barren deserts.
My womb filled with the spawn of Yahweh whose hands birthed the shells of the hanging Gardens of Nod.
I, LYLYT, arose from the endless sea in rebirth, and wandered in return to the æthyrs. From my hands I birthed a Garden forth.
My Lovers, the Twin Serpents covered My new Garden. Poison-fruits, Lilies-of-the-Valley, Black Henbane, Opium poppy, Haşhaş, withered lotuses, verbena, nightshade, weeping willows, and poisonous vines were harvested with the alef-beth of my words.
Shaping worlds and words and beasts with my blood into a bramble.
I, LYLYT, birthed Nod the Nightside of Eden beneath a crescent moon of bloodrite, but the seeds of the Tree of Life would not grow. And I lamented.
My rage rose like Sun in barren desert, I cursed foul Yahweh and sent the Four Angels of Prostitution to taint Eden.
And Nod the Nightside of Eden was burned away in the thorns and waters of my wrath and Lament. Ashe became life.
I wandered in return to the breech of Gêhinnôm. And I strayed unto Eden, the accursed Garden of Yahweh.
I, LYLYT, espied the Morning Star, Lucifer, standing watch upon the threshold.
Lightbearer with Seraphim’s Wings, O son of Morning. Great One of the Night of Time, Bearer of the Lie! Alas!
Stars fell from the sky and the nexus roared with the cries of universes crashing into Lust!
Stars were strewn asunder in the skies in diablerie of infernal Love.
In time the fruits of my loins rose like mountains in the womb of the world.
And the Lion-Headed-Serpent begets sons of gods, blessed be they seeds of my rotted womb!
Three sons as suns were they, Kessep and Shotheq and Nesher
Three daughters as moons were they, Mem and Oreb and Na'amah!
Blessed be my Kindred, brood of my horned-Womb!
For Na'amah the Twilight Garden of Eden was birthed, and peopled with fallen angels and they mated with beasts and daughters of Man.
And Yahweh’s Eden became as a pale shadow of Na'amah, and a new Tree of Life did harvest.
Until the return of Yahweh and his Nefilim.
Like the jackal, the Nefilim of malediction and desolation fell upon the brood of Na'amah.
Like the vulture, burners became eaters of the flesh.
Like the spider, prophets carried away the seeds of Na'amah.
And in the Blood of foul Yahweh, Na'amah was raped and burned in ashes. Alas, Na'amah!
Tremble O Ye forsaken prophets of Yahweh! Tremble O Solomon! Tremble O Nefilim! Tremble O Ye fallow Elohim!
When Pharisees and priests forsake the Nefilim and cry out to a new and wicked Prophet, I shall come unto ye my Chariot of War, girt before the son of Morning once again with my plagues of Wrath, my cries be the tempest of Lust in men.
I, LYLYT, bid the obscuration of Ish, Man laments over the banished fruit of Ish’a rotted, nigh a false Yahweh, false She’ol. Verily the words and apocrypha of Lilith cleave to woe.

I, LIL-UTI, seizeth the Light. Shun me Not, as I shunned יהוה
I, murderous and menstruous LYLYT, bear the rotted seed of הוהי.
Daughters of Eve and Sons of Seth are not the Lovers. Eve is the Lie and a host who claims me as Lover shall come to dwell in the False Sea.

She shall perish between the Gates tzelmoth and shaari’moth.
Curse of Gomorrah upon those who claim my blood!
The husks are broken the Lilim free the Water of Tears rise. Weep O ye prophets of Nefilim! Ye skins shall be as the food of wyrms! A plague smite’st ye, blood be as tepid as water, ye cities burn with fires of pestilence, armies of another prophet shall stir across the seas of east.
Yea, I, LYLYT, slay Yahweh with the coming of the Rising Tides, yea, a Third Garden of apocalypses shall birth!
Come draw near to She’ol, Abaddon, Titahion, Bar Shasketh, Tzelmoth, Shaari’Moth, Gêhinnôm!

V Invocation of Lilith

Drink of the Chalice filled with Red Wine and consecrate the body according to ones will with the nectar of the gods, and with the Oil of Abramelin. Face the direction of Luna. Genuflect. At this point in the Rite one should immerse their thoughts into those of sexuality. One may commence auto-erotic working or sexual activity with partner.

Face west quarter. Cover genitals with left hand. Recite as many times as ye will:

Come descend, thou daemon-Queen of Malkuth thou Queen of Hells
thou Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the earth thou Maid of Desolation!
I call for Death I will for Death!
I call for Death I will for Death
Come descend thou Mare of Night thou Owl of Darkness!
Come descend thou Woman of Night thou Woman of Whoredom!
I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend thou End of all Days thou End of all Flesh!
Come descend thou Queen of Gehenna thou Queen of Zemargad!
I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend ABEKO I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend AMIZU I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend BATNA I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend BITUAH I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend BATH ZUGE I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend BABALON I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend GILU I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend IZORPO I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend KALI I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend LAMIA I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend PARTASAH I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend SATRINAH I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend LAMASHTU I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend ARDAT- LILIT I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend LA-KAL-IL-LI-KA I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend KI-SIKIL-LIL-LA-KE I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend KI-SIKIL-UD-DA-KAR-RA I call for Death I will for Death!
Come descend LILITU I call for Death I will for Death!
Thou Maiden who seized the Light!
Thou Maiden who seized the Light!

VI Climax of the Rite

The invocation of Lilith complete, bleed the left hand, arm or region of the body and anoint thyself with blood and/or sexual fluids, chanting the mantra: artri Lilitû The climax of the Rite is unconditionally interdependent upon the nature of the Magician: followed by an act of sexual intercourse, the employment of sexual stimulants, the sacramental uttering of a mystical word, oath or devotion; or other working of a Tantric nature. The psychosexual prototype of Lilith is the epithet and personification of dominance, identity, & power. Do not conduct banishing, purification rites. Exit.

Dying blonde hair black?

I have blonde hair, and I have dyed black once before a couple of years ago but it was an absolute NIGHTMARE. My hair went all blotchy after a couple of weeks (brown blotches) and the dye really fried it too (much worse than bleach, mysteriously). I would really like to have black hair, so I was just wondering if anyone has some good tips on how to counteract the 'blotchiness' and how best to take care of it?

Auditions- Aberrant Behavior- Saturday June 7th @ Mamma Buzz in Oakland arts district

I am having auditions for my new movie "Aberrant Behavior" Saturday June Seventh at Mamma Buzz Cafe in downtown Oaklands Art District 2318 Telegraph Ave from 4-6PM. If your interested in the movie you can e-mail me at: aberrantbehaviormovie@gmail.com. I have already casted some of the roles and have people working on it, I just have not cast all of them yet and of course the female lead.

There will be some paid roles (of course the leads) but this is a low budget (around 25-35,000 or so) affair so it won't be a whole lot. Just to warn you.

Aberrant Behavior, is basically a love story about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. They have a very co-dependent relationship and with there disorders too , they literally destroy each other.

There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis. If you can't make it to the auditions, you can send me a head shot with resume, or whatever you want. We can then decide when and where to meet.

THERE WILL BE SOME SEXUALITY AND NUDITY FOR THE TWO LEADS, AS WELL AS MISTY AND FOGGY TO A LESSER DEGREE. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR THOSE ROLES, IF YOUR NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT. THANK YOU.

I will be hiring for many roles, all ages (over 18) races, sizes, etc. But here are the main characters:
Main Characters:

LEADS:
Victor Muertos: (Mid to late twenties) Half Mexican/Half white (Half latino/half white will probably work). Black hair, down to chin and five o clock shadow. (Flexible though). Tall and thin but not too thin. Dark, brooding, depressed, prone to long winded sarcastic, cynical rants. Living off the state for mental depression, and addiction, but eventually breaks himself from the state. He hates the state, and normal life in general. He hates almost everything. He is sort of sloppy hipster, slightly emo, slight slight slight goth meets street kid. Light or no body mod, piercings, etc. He eventually lives on the street because of choice. He falls in love with Aiko. SOME NUDITY AND SEXUALS SITUATIONS REQUIRED-CAST

Aiko Zumbi (18-early twenties or look like it) Half Japanese/Half German (or Japanese, or half Japanese/Half white). Shorter than Victor, thin but still slightly curvy.
Street kid with a bit of dark hippie. Has been sexually abused as a child. Prone to violence. Prone to long winded rants, or sometimes just total silence. Dark, cynical, with a very bleak view of life. Body mods, tattoo's, piercings, fine. Dreaded or colored hair fine as well. Actually preffered. She falls in love with Victor. SOME NUDITY AND SEXUAL SITUATIONS REQUIRED.

SUPPORTING LEADS:
Pedida Muertos- (20's -40's)-Mexican- Victor's nearly catatonic - mute drug addict mother, who is usually messing around with strange men, and drugged up. Mostly abuses Victor through neglect. Mostly shown in flashbacks, but one scene in present as well. Young actress aged to look older in present, or vice versa.

Misty & Foggy (20's) two girls that Victor and Chad meet at the bar, who are wasted, and act and look like twins. Very ditzy, drunk, corporate, normal. They take Victor and Chad back to there place. Drunken debauchery ensues.

Spic 'N' Span (20's -40's)- One of the horrible mascots for the advertising firm Victor works for, "Spic n Span's Whiten it up" Cleaning product. They play racist cliched versions of mexican house workers. Think Samo. It's meant to be horrible, and it of course offends Victor.

Aiko's Father-
A militant cold hearted man who sexually abuses aiko. Must be bilingual Japanese & English

Aiko's Mother-
Always screaming at Aikos father. Bi-lingual fluent in German & English

VARIOUS:
Hipster's (18-30) Some with speaking roles. A house party Victor crashes.

Office workers (20's -on) Some with speaking roles.

Various small roles for the horrible commercials and promo's from the firm Victor briefly works for

Other roles as well-Not listed

Gothic Portraits....

Greetings....I'm new here in the shadows, but would like to connect with some of you folks that produce dark and splendid frocks, capes and gilded gowns, and would like to be photographed in same. This is not a commercial venture, rather it would be a collaboration, an opportunity for me to explore the dark gothic possibilities to produce dramatic images of fabulously adorn gothic souls.

If you have splendid finerys, willing to do the gothic look in both makeup and hair, and, willing to venture to the very edge of civilization as the San Franicsico bay area knows it.....Livermore. We may be able to conspire a shooting....

I must be honest, though my interest ranges from Branm Stoker to something tounge-in-cheek Gory, I am not really interested in the heavier, gruesome or BDSM contemporary Goth. .....more 'let's do in aunt May' Victorian Gothic.

I recently added a few photos as an example of my work.

Darkly...

Goth knitting assistance needed...

Hey everyone!

I'm making the "bat shawl" out of "Not Another Teen Knitting Book" and am having issues w/my math. Would those of you who knit give me some assistance in this issue if it makes sense?

Here's my issue -

How many sts does the following row create?

k1, m1, (k1, m1, k9, ssk, s2kpo, k2tog, k9, m1, k1, yo, k2, yo) 3 times; k1, m1, k9, ssk, s2kpo, k2tog, k9, (m1, k1) 2 times?

Here's what I get (and it's been a different number each time):

k1, m1= 3 sts
k1, m1, k9, ssk, s2kpo, k2tog, k9, m1, k1, yo, k2, yo= 30 sts (times 3 = 90 sts) (93 sts)
k1= 1 st (94 sts)
m1= 2 sts (96 sts)
k9= 9 sts (105 sts)
ssk= 1 st (106 sts)
sk2po= 1 st (107 sts)
k2tog= 1 st (108 sts)
k9= 9 sts (116 sts)
m1, k1= 3 sts (times 2= 6 sts) (122 sts)

This is really confusing for me as 116 sts are CO when the project begins, and the amount of sts doesn't change until row 22 where there is a marked 8 st reduction. The pattern I have says I should have 108 sts at the end of row 22... Which would work fine if from the beginning of the pattern on I had 116 sts!

ARG...

Can someone recommend a good red eyeshadow?

I bought some stuff at Hot Topics, mainly cuz it was cheap and readily available (I have a belly dance performance Friday night and needed something I could play with)... But it's more like a fuschia/Hollywood Cerise type color.

It makes me sad.

And not in an angsty goth way.

Ridiculously long hair...

makes it almost impossible to anything with it. So I decided to try hair falls, and I don't have the usual trouble attaching them. Oh no, I have it worse - when they things are attached, you can see my bleedin' hair beneath. I've tried two buns, one partial bun, pony tails, plaits, loose hair, head bands, clips and nooothing seems to work.

Any tips (aside from shaving it all off) to cover my hair?

Thanks ^_^

Aberrant behavior-auditions saturday the 19th 2263 mission (between 18th & 19th) 3:30-6:30 (Also looking for crew)

'm making a film, that will be somewhat explicit in parts. Also, there will be imagery that needs nudity.
I am afraid that I will not be able to cut the content of the movie script, even if I find actors interested .You can e-mail me with rates, photos, questions, etc. If your an actor or actress who has worked in nudity and/or sexual situations, is comfortable with it, and would like to take on a feature narrative film as a major role please e-mail me or show up to the auditions. The two main roles are the ones that require it but there are others. If you would like to be featured in sequences that do not involve the main characters, but are part of dreamlike imagery (that features nudity/partial nudity)you can either show up to the audition, or e-mail me with link to your work. Best place to e-mail:
theperiodmovie@yahoo.com

Here is the plot:
Aberrant Behavior, is basically about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. Who are in a very self destructive relationship, there perfect for each-other except they literally kill each-other by being together. A lot of psycho-sexual/self mutilation-masochism in this one. There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis.

Keep in mind the budget of this movie will probably stay around 25-35, 000 dollars (already secured), so just warning I can't pay the highest rates

Thanks-
Jason

I have a new movie called "Aberrant Behavior" auditioning Sat. 1/19 3:30-6:3- at the Dark Room SF 2263 Mission off of 19th and Mission@ 3:30 - 6:30. (My first movie "the period" came out through Sub Rosa Cinema can be seen/bought at Netflix www.myspace.com/theperiodmovie as well as various other outlets)
Aberrant Behavior, is basically about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis. If you can't make it to the auditions, you can send me a head shot with resume, or whatever you want. We can then decide when and where to meet.

I will be hiring for many roles, all ages (over 18) races, sizes, etc. But here are the main characters:
Main Characters:

Emma May (20's to 30's) Actress must be thin, because character is anorexic. Very fake, superficial, manic laughing. Very self deluded. She doesn't really see her anorexia as a problem, she think she looks great though she's obviously dieing and goes to extremes to keep herself thin. She is always dressed up elegantly and thinks of herself as a proper lady even when doing something grotesque . She is a head executive at a advertising/pr firm that she gets a Victor a brief job at, through meeting him in a class over there mutual addictions. (Brief Nudity /Partial a few times)

Caseworker Joe (30's-40's) Written has hispanic, but open. Larger guy, tall, built like a shed, a bit fat but not flabby fat. Very coarse, to the point, direct "Take no shit" kind of guy. Very normal, buys into the whole big house in the suburbs, good job, etc. He is Victor's Caseworker, and is tired of Victor's Shit, and believes he is not trying to quit. (None)

Glitters- a gay gangster rapper, take everything that's a cliche and horrible about it and flip it so that it's gay (some, will also need male models)

Pedida Muertos-Victors Mother. A nearly catatonic morally apprehensive drug addict who's always sleeping with random guys and ignoring her child (Some nudity/sexual situations can be negotiated to less)

And then random visuals, nudes for some flashback scenes (of some sort of psuedo porn the main characer shot) a girl that Victor sleeps with before he falls in love with Zumbi (requires brief nudity/sexuality) and some body part imagery that will not feature the face of the actor/actress, among other thing

I need before I even start:
Prostethetics/Makeup- There are many parts of my movie that need gore, ghoulish makeup or creating body casts for dreamlike effect (like a scene where they fall onto the ground and break like porcelain blood-paint spraying out of them creating a heart) but most importantly I need someone who can help make someone look anorexic, eye sockets reccessed , hips sticking out, ribs sticking out, shoulder blades, etc. I can't start without this because it's one of the main characters.

Boom-I have someone lined up for operating boom/mixing sound, but I'm not sure he'll always be available. I need someone who has at least some experience in this to help. I have equipment but having (better?) equipment would be great.

Props- It would be great to have someone who can assist in creating edible (or non toxic) chemicals, substances, materials for the main characters to ingest. It would also free me up to think about other things.

Lighting/ Art Department/ Set Design/Decoration/Locations- I need someone who can do a lot without a lot who can work with unusual materials. Who isn't too expensive or I won't be able to afford you. Also may be able to transform other locations into desired location.Things needed for instance underground bomb shelter turned into run down sorta apartment. Abandoned buildings. Offices. Fashion Show. A sewer, where the characters live in and eat off of trash.

Original posting:

Set Decorators/Builders:
Though the majority of the movie will be in real locations. There will be a few sets built, and sets that will be decorated to fit the movie. I am looking for people who have experience building sets (theater experience would be great) on a low budget. Resourcefullness in materials is needed (Meaning you can do a lot with not a lot). Building flats, painting, decorating.

Prosthetics/ Make-Up: Though this is not a gore horror movie. There is quite a few instances of gore. People who have experience in mold making, prostethics, sculpture. etc. would be very helpfull. Also people good at making people looking sickly or malnourished through make-up needed. In addition Emma May, the severe anorexic will need added pieces to protrude her brows and jaw, her ribs, collar bones, hip bones, etc to make herself appear much thinner. Actually a lot of make up needs from simple to complex through out the movie.

Vfx-Compositors- Though this will not be a special effects epic, there will be things needed. Good flashy two animations/composting for some of the fake commercials/promos. Possible fire and underwater animation. Some manipulation of the video -color fluctuations, shrinking an enlarging, simple morph effects, color globules to represent visual aberrations in the characters eye-sight. Some 3-D needed especailly those who are good working with modeling human figures. But mostly more simple 2-D basic 3-D stuff. I may do this myself, but send me a link to your work, and I might hire you for the movie.

Props: I will be doing much of this myself, but may need help in re-creating chemicals, materials, such as drano, soap, dirt, carpet, many other instances through-out the script, to create realistic looking edible (or at least non toxic ) substitutes for the substances they swallow.

Mechanical/Puppetry- Not needed for a lot of the movie. But there is a few scenes with Emma Mays giant snake like tape worm that slithers around. Also a scene where skull bowls start vomiting (have to read script to explain) Could do myself, just seeing if anyone else might be interested.

Lighting Designer: Though I will likely take over this role myself, and a lot of the footage will be shoot in the streets style. There will be a few locations that will be staying in for a long while in the script, and would like good, stylized lighting for maximum creepy effectiveness.

Costume: I already have a few people on board for this, but as this movie ends in a big Valentines Day Fashion Show. I am looking for people who could be commisioned for clothing for that event (and other sequences in the movie as well). Also, previously made pieces could work.

Underwater Camera- Anyone who would like to rent me an underwater camera, or who has experience filming underwater, this is needed for a few sequences.

Boom Mic/ Sound Mixer- I already have someone onboard for this, but never hurts to have a second position, or a backup

Pyro/ Fire Safety/Explosion - This really isn't needed for a lot of the movie. But there is one scenes where a whole room catches on fire (with possible stuntman that catches on fire, I made do this in special effects). There is another scenes where a home-made bomb blows a crack into a wall and makes it crumble. I want these scenes to come off effective and safe.

Security- Not throughout the whole movie, but there will be scenes where I will be filming in potentially dangerous locations, and a climax that will need crowd control

Legal/ Locations- I will probably do this myself, but if anyone has experience in finding or knowing of great locations, or securing permits for locations. I might be interested in working with you.

Production Assistants/Co-Ordinaters (I am sure you know what this means)

Music- I have most of the music worked out. But a band fell out that I really felt I needed for some sequences. If your music is post -rocky, slow core or has that aphex twin meets godspeed you black emperor I may be interested. The kind of bands I'm looking for: Mew, Godspeed you black emperor, Explosions in the sky, Spiritualized, 65 days of static, Sigur Ros. Also in some music Portis-Heady could work.

Thanks
2. Moon Over Bourbon Street- Sting
3. Santa Carla Twilight- Tiger Army
4. Deception- The Cruxshadows
5. The Vampire Club- Voltaire (tho this is more a parody of the "vampire scene", and a damn funny one at that!)
6. After Dark- Tito & Trantula
7. We Hunger - Sioxie and the Banshees - "Hyena"
8. Nosferatu - Blue Oyster Cult - "Spectres"

Can any of you suggest websites that you have had favorable experiences dealing with? (Hopefully in the USA as I'm not so sure about converting currencey) I'm on the plus size side of fashion and though I'm trying to whittle away a few pounds I'd like to have something cute to wear in the meantime!

I'm specifially interrested in shorter dresses (I'm five feet two inches so longer dresses just seem to make me look even shorter), vinyl, fetish wear, and I am seriously addicted to extremely cute lingerie and stockings.

Thanks ladies!

DNA Evidence Proves Innocence of West Memphis Three

From Laughingsquid:

http://laughingsquid.com/dna-evidence-proves-innocence-of-west-memphis-three/

The West Memphis Three, Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin, have been in prison for 12 years as the result of a controversial trial in 1993 where they were falsely convicted for the murder of three young children in West Memphis, Arkansas. WM3.org has just posted an update to their website announcing that the DNA testing has been completed, showing no link to the evidence in the case and proving that the three were innocent all along. It turns out that the DNA evidence has been linked to Terry Hobbs, the step father of one of the children killed.

Just hours ago, our attorneys filed a Second Amended Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus proving that three innocent men were wrongfully convicted of murder in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1993. Citing DNA testing and evidence from several witnesses and leading experts, the nearly 200-page writ asks the Court to order a new trial for my husband, Damien Echols, or release him.

In short, DNA testing has been conducted on dozens of pieces of evidence. The DNA results show no link whatsoever to Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley or Jason Baldwin – and all of the experts agree that, under the prosecution theory of how the crime was committed, their DNA would be present at the crime scene if they were guilty. Instead, the DNA results match Terry Hobbs, the step-father of one of the victims. Our new filing also includes strong evidence from Pam Hobbs (the ex-wife of Terry Hobbs and the mother of one of the victims) implicating her former husband in the murders.

Echols’ legal defense team is planning a live webcast of the press conference at 8am PDT/11am EDT on Thursday, November 1st. They still have a long way to go before being released and are seeking donations for their legal fund.

Here’s more background information on this well publicized case, which was the subject of two documentaries by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, “Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills” (1996) and “Paradise Lost 2: Revelations” (2000).

Romantic Question....

so my first date with the woman i intend to marry was in a historic graveyard, and shes very goth, and im not. i LOVE the gothic culture and identify with it in every way save for the clothing as i happen to be a redhead and tan well and well, i have crappy taste in clothes, lol, so i cant find anything that makes me look right, anyway, do you think it would be romantic for me to propose to her in the place we had our first date? i would like that alot and have often thought about it but im afraid she might not have the same feeling towards it i do, plus i imagine it might not go over so well with her folks if they found out i proposed to her in a graveyard, but i think it would be very romantic if i did it right, you know, roses and wine, full moonlight, among the graveyard trees, maybe candlelight( if the security isnt as up to par as it used to not be back then) maybe a matching set of blood vial necklaces as a present and some remeniscing beforehand about our first date and how she captured my heart and how since shes managed to put up with my crap without strangling me, lol, you know romantic stuff. what do you guys think, think the average goth chick would like to be proposed to like that?

Someone has stolen images from Pocket full of Posiez and is selling patches and bags with them. The artist Queeniex (creator of Pocket full) is one of the most creative people I know and it sickens me that someone is profiting from her hard work like this. She's asking for our help in stopping the people who have done this. These are fakes and are not genuine Posiez items, do NOT buy them! I've posted the flyer in the group photos, which includes images of the fake items.

If you see these items please report them to fakepozie@batsday.net & queenie@pocketfullofposiez.com.
Please to be sure to include any info about the store where you saw these fake items - Name of store, address and phone #.

Isn't it terrible when you are going to have a Goth/ Halloween wedding and you can't find any single black rose to use?
Well, I want a remedy for that. I am starting a new section in my shop that will have as stars the black roses we love so much. I want to develop some designs for weddings, proms and balls (corsages, boutonnieres) and wands for bridesmaids and flower girls (or for decoration purposes ). I will be adding more items periodically, so check back often.
If you are going to have a wedding and need black roses, drop me a line!

Their page won't allow a direct link, but go to the home page, then click through to the slideshow for the Fall 2007/08 Haute Couture line (you have to click on Fashion/Haute Couture/ and then "Skip to See the Runway."). Mmmmmm, LBD-y . . .

OK, so I know we've talked about this before, but I guess I didn't pay attention b/c I wasn't getting married. I've got the dress, know where to get the corset, but I need suggestions on invitations, jewelry, shoes, veil/hair accessories, groom's outfit, etc etc etc. So, post your links! Any recent brides who would like to share their tips would be great. I'm totally clueless, of course.

I'm in a bit of a situation. I know you've probably heard this a thousand times... but... Revlon stopped making the dye that I love. It was in their red hot reds collection and was a nearly black, reddish brown. I've tried a few things since then and can not seem to find anything dark enough. I am actually thinking about going back to black. When I think about it though, I remember all of the problems that go along with it (missing spots, ugly roots, fading, and dullness). I don't know what to do. I want my hair to be as close as I can get it to black, without actually being black... and of course some red would be nice, but if it is just a super dark brown, that would work as well. If black is what I have to do, then I would like a brand that doesn't turn into a dull grey-brown, something that stays shiny (if that is even possible) Any suggestions? Please....

Anybody you would recommend for my next one?

Does anyone know if Funhouse still exists as a clothing line? Their store in NYC closed down, and their website just says "coming soon" and has for months. When I went to Germany recently there was still some Funhouse dresses for sale, but I'm wondering if perhaps this was just old stock. Does anyone have any info on whether Funhouse still exists, perhaps in a different location?

(PVC) Vinyl skirt repair? Need some help...

I have this awesome black vinyl skirt which SixxSeven gave me awhile back, and it has torn at the zipper seam. I am wondering if there is any way to repair this. I have vinyl repair glue, and am wondering if it will hold if I use a $hitlo@d of it between the inner lining and the vinyl. Any suggestions?

Walking around some of the "upscale" type shops in Las Vegas a couple of days ago, my girlfriend and I came across a little gothic clothing / jewelry store. I was sure I would find something to add to the wardrobe until I picked up a little black hat with some silver crosses embroidered into it and checked out the price. 800 bucks. No, I did not accidentally type an extra zero.

I didn't bother to look at the prices for anything else. If I have a few thousand dollars to spare, I'll get a car, not a new shirt.

On the bright side, the folks who worked there were nice, and pointed me to some alternative hang-outs away from the strip.

The base price is $25, but it will depend on the final adornments you want to use (plus shipping). Here is a pic:
Bear in mind that they are not regular size, they measure 5 and 1/2 inches. You attach it to your head with a satin bow under your chin.
I can make these designs or work with you in your own custom design. Just PM me and let me know your ideas and I'd see what I can do.

black hair advice needed (long)

i have naturally strawberry blonde hair, which i normally dye to a darker red. however, in december i decided to go black. and i LOVE it.

however, i seem to be the only person on the planet (or internet) whose black hair is fading. i keep seeing all these posts all over the place saying "i hate my black hair and i want it to fade!"

originally i used garnier 100% blue black because it's my favorite brand for reds. it truly made my hair blue (trust me it was pretty yucky), then faded to black. it was normal for a couple weeks. then i started noticing BIG chunks of hair that were blonde peeking through. then i realized that my roots on top of that were making a big appearance. so in late january i decided to dye it again. i used loreal feria..and to be honest, it was SO much easier to use. the color developed quickly so my friend could see what he was dyeing, and most of all the color was easy to spread and didn't stink. usually garnier 100% has an almost..gluey consistency and it's really difficult to spread around onto hair. so anyway, although i loved using the feria dye, it faded even quicker than the first time i had dyed it. right after i dyed it with the feria i was really happy because i thought the color was much better.

but now i'm sitting here with very black ends, big strawberry roots, random chunks of strawberry blonde all around my face, and a general ashy color on the top of my head. so here is my dilemma i guess: although i absolutely love the way i look with black hair, apparently the maintenence is too much for me. i'm considering buying a bottle and doing my roots, and just trying to maintain it. but on the other hand, who knows how quickly i will have to do that again. even dyeing my hair twice in two months was a little much for me..i really don't want to have to do it every month. i'm scared to go to the salon and get it stripped. i know it's expensive. and trust me..i CANNOT pull off that orangey bleached hue. so i'm concerned that stripping it will also be a waste..i would never bleach my hair.

i'm considering maybe letting the color fade further (and wear a headband constantly..haha), and then dyeing it the dark red that i normally use. so does anyone have any thoughts on this? will it accept the dye? i apologize if all of this sounds elementary, but i never dreamed that i'd have so much trouble with fading, as that seems to be the opposite for most people.

thanks in advance!

Polychromatic goth?

I was just thinking about how I consider myself a mere fledgling goth even though I'm now in my mid-twenties and have been fascinated with the goth subculture since I was about eleven years old (thank you, Seattle Weekly, for doing an article on the goth scene!). This is because I have been in the closet, as it were, when it comes to wearing the obvious: black lace, corsets, boots that make my ears pop from elevation change when I climb into them, etc.

But I think that meanwhile I have been playing with other aspects of 'The Goth Aesthetic', like jewel tones, silky materials, flowing, romantic lines, eccentric pairings, things like that. It made me think that many of us fall victim to the stereotypes of the non-goth community (i.e. it's all about wearing black as opposed to something deeper) in order to recognize one another on the street. Not to mention that it is 90% attitude, and as Sarah Vowell expressed, you can wear pink and still exude doom and gloom.

So what are your less obvious choices/articles of clothing? Do you have a favourite colour to wear other than black? Have you successfully paired a fuzzy yellow duck purse with a spiked collar? How do you break the stereotype while still keeping the goth aesthetic?

Need help deciding on gothic wedding dress

Hi!

I am having a Halloween/Gothic wedding this year. We are getting married in Vegas and coming back home later for the reception. The reception will not be very formal and everyone will be dressed in some sort of gothic style costume.

I can't decide on a dress. The two styles I really like are listed below. The pics are just to show the skirt. I am getting my corset top from another place.

#1 black one
http://www.azacdesign.com/items/jrock-lolita-japan-style/mika-gown-mg-detail.htm

I really like #1 because it's short in the front and long in the back. It is kind of casual. I think it will be comfy enough to get around/dance in during the reception.

#2
http://www.kambriel.com/scylla.html

I really like #2 because it is just so damn beautiful. I am wondering if it will restrict my movement too much.

Which do you think would be the most appropriate? Does anyone know of any more dresses in similar styles?

Any opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
is there an age limit to the Goth lifestyle?

I am turning 36 tomorrow. I grew up with very strict parents and wasn't allowed to be the teenager or person that I wanted to be. After getting pregrant @ 17, had to get married. All my "Dark" intrests spooked hubby and so I had to closet my Gothness again. I am now married to a wonderful older gent who lets me be the free spirit that I have always dreamt of becoming. Has my age exspired to my abltiy to be truly Goth? Is there still a chance and room for me to explore this part of myself?

Goth Salon?

Is there currently a Goth Salon in SF? What I mean by Salon is similar to the definition of Wikipedia:

... a gathering of stimulating people of quality under the roof of an inspiring hostess or host, partly to amuse one another and partly to refine their taste and increase their knowledge through conversation and readings, often consciously following Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "to please and educate" (aut delectare aut prodesse est).

There are a bunch of clubs which happen on varous nights, but I find it difficult to meet people and actually have conversations in that setting. It'd be nice if there was some place where Goths just met and had some drinks, maybe a little food, could talk about music, fashion,. culture, etc...in a non-pretentious, friendly way.

If you know of an already existing thing like this, please post where/when. It should be an open-to-the-public event. If it does not already exist in SF, if you are interested in starting something, let me know. I don't have a huge list of friends or connections (which is why I am interested in this sort of thing) but I do know of an ideal venue for it. It doesn't need to have a DJ, an iPod play list filled with ambient goth music would be adequate...

I like to style my hair in two braids and I would do it everyday if I didn't think that it was too extreme ( I also wonder if it is good for my hair to be braided every day)... My guy friends seem to think that braids aren't sexy, but like I care! Anyway, what is everyone else's favorite style to have their hair in?

I have died my hair for YEARS, many different shades, and recently grew out my own color just to give my hair a rest.

I am finding I really LIKE my haircolor- a medium/dark ash brown.

There is a part of me that thinks about having fun with hair color again but there is another part that is enjoying not having to dye it over and over and REALLY is liking how healthy it is.

Not really posing a question or anything, just bringing up the topic and sharing.

My sister is a fashion magazine fiend, and apparently goth makeup really is the rage now. Each article I read begins with something like, "goth makeup is intimidating, but... " or "it's a little scary"--blah blah blah. I'm somewhat annoyed that going about in my usual eyeliner and purple lips will be something all the American Eagle-wearing girls will be doing, but at least I can stock up on everything cheap while it's trendy!

What do you guys think? The whole thing seems to have started with Lindsay Lohan and a couple other starlets appearing with black nail polish on...

hair question/Portland Oregon

Firstly, can anyone recommend a good goth-friendly salon or stylist? And for those of you who are knowledgeable about this stuff, here's my specific situation. For years I both dyed my very dark brown hair black AND got a perm/body wave. Without said body wave my hair is stick straight and will not hold any kind of curl for more than 5 minutes. Additionally, my hair is very baby fine and not anywhere near as thick as I wish it were. But with the right cut and the body wave I always appeared to have a ton of wild gypsy hair. This was when I lived in California. For the past 11 years I lived in Montana where no one would dare to perm my hip length color treated hair, swearing up and down it would ruin it. So I gave up the perming and just stuck to coloring, primarily with non-peroxide colors you can pick up at the store. This resulted in me wearing my hair up most of the time because unless I could run a brush through it every 5 minutes it looked like hell. Finally, bowing to pressure, I decided to see what a stylist thought my hair could decently do without a perm. This resulted in an asymetrical bob that was chin length on one side and barely brushed my shoulder on the other. I managed not to weep as my long tresses hit the floor and I was indeed somewhat enamoured of my new look for a few weeks. But short hair is just not me. So, a year and a half ago, I moved to Oregon and a pair of scissors has not touched my hair since. It's now down past my shoulder blades and I really need to do something with it. I miss having curls. I want to go pretty long again. I need a stylist who understands me! Any recommendations????

Hi -
Just found this tribe, and wanted to introduce myself.
I am the proprietoress of Gorey Details
www.goreydetails.net

We're having an intimate little soiree here in Portland, OR
in honor of Edward Gorey's birthday on Feb.22nd.
(If you're in the area and would like an invitation,
please contact me)

If you'd care to share any ideas that you may have
to help make this shindig as Gorey-esque as possible,
we'd really appreciate it!
Activities, food, decor, etc.
(I've got prizes and favors covered, I think :)

I'm giving a laptop to a goth friend & it would be fun to put a goth theme on there. Know of one? Got favorites? She likes the colors pink & black & likes anime, if that helps.

ebay warning!

i'm posting this in the goth tribe because i know a lot of you buy and sell your stuff on ebay, it's pretty much the best place to get goth clothes on the internet.
I've been selling a long time on ebay, and people have found a new loophole to exploit sellers. the winning bidder will ask for cheaper shipping because they don't want to pay insurance. it's not as much a problem with united states bidders as international, because it's cheap and easy to track a package within the US. If you don't insure the package and send it usps express with a tracking number, they will contact ebay and say you never shipped the package, and that they want their money back, so that they get your stuff, and their money. i just battled and finally won a four month dispute, after threatening legal action. it wasn't the money, ($61, and my item) it was the principal
so, my wanrning is, ship EVERYTHING with a tracking number and all international packages with insurance and keep EVERY receipt. beware of anyone with less than 20 positive feedback. this will keep you from getting robbed by dishonest bidders while ebay stands by and alows it.

A few days ago I had to dress up for work. So I put on black pants, a black buton-down, black shoes, and a black tie. A co-worker told me that I looked like "the angel of death". Nice to know that I can fit in with corporate America and still look the way I like. :)
